True second chances.

Michael Lawrence gave his last sermon this past Sunday, expositing Hebrews 10. The thing that stuck with me the most was this one insight: true second chances almost never come around; if you've betrayed the trust of someone, they will not treat you the same out of legitimate worry that you might betray their trust again. This doesn't need to be a deep wound. The example TML used was an employee doing sub-par on a project and managers not firing him, but also being more wary and giving him projects that either do not fall in this area of weakness or simply double-checking to make sure he's on track. But only Christ consistently gives us second chances after we've sinned, and treats us the same--His love is unchanging.
