Dominating Delaware.

We dominated Delaware, as our intention was. The theme was growing in intimacy with Christ; in the sense of knowing Christ, rather than knowing about Christ. We went through four passages in the gospels recounting four different individuals (i.e. woman at the well, Zacchaeus, etc.) who encountered Christ and how this affected them. The catch phrase tended to revolve around "radical transformation." It might be more appropriate to talk about "radical transformations" plural, whereby daily there is a radical denial of self and a radical glorification of Christ.

It's definitely difficult, especially when my days seem to be over in what feels to be just a matter of hours, where dozens of things vie for my attention. The moment I wake up my to-do list screams out to me and before I know it, my day's gone by and I have thought very little of Christ relative to more mundane things.

Just random updates:
  • I see that Thabiti's got a new book out on evangelizing Muslims. An item that's already on my list of Kindle books to purchase; especially helpful to think through as I plan for Jordan.
  • Going through The Christian Life by Sinclair Ferguson with Brandon, starting this Saturday, which should be good
  • ESOL ministry outing with the students for a picnic on the mall this Saturday to take advantage of the cherry blossoms
  • Class topics: Desert Storm, Nuclear Proliferation, "I and Thou" (Buber), Buddhism and Jainism exam, Democracy & Tradition (pragmatist vision for religion-state relations)
